dist[ex] - Development of a Network for Disengagement and Exit Work

dist[ex] - Development of a Network for Disengagement and Exit Work is developed and supported by a strong network. This network currently consists of two pillars:

The network of organisations

The dist[ex] network consists of five civil society organisations that contribute their different professional profiles and many years of experience in distancing and exit work to the project. They shape dist[ex] together - in terms of content, strategy and structure. Below we briefly introduce the participating organisations.

Associated partnerships (coming soon)

In the medium term, the dist[ex] network will be expanded to include associated partnerships. These partnerships are currently in preparation and are intended to offer other civil society actors the opportunity to contribute their expertise and experience. The specific requirements and participation formats are currently still being developed - more information will follow shortly.

Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft Ausstieg zum Einstieg e. V.

The Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft Ausstieg zum Einstieg e. V. is the German umbrella organisation of civil society actors involved in exit and disengagement work in the context of the extreme right.

It networks counselling centres from different regions and works with its members to professionalise and further develop the quality of the field. It is also committed to the sustainable establishment and strengthening of civil society exit and disengagement work at federal and state level.

The main services offered by the Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft Ausstieg zum Einstieg e. V. include further training for counsellors in the context of the extreme right as well as on distancing-oriented dialogue with extreme right-wing individuals for educators and other interested parties who come into contact with right-wing and extreme right-wing people in their professional or private environment.

Grüner Vogel e. V.

Grüner Vogel e. V. is a civil society organisation that operates the “Beratungsstelle Leben” counselling centre, which is funded by the Advice Centre on Radicalisation at the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF).

We operate nationwide with offices in Berlin and Bonn in the field of deradicalization and reintegration. Our main area of expertise is Islamist extremism, particularly political Salafism and Jihadism. Professional counselling is offered to family members and others in the social environment of radicalised individuals, as well as to those seeking to disengage from extremist movements.

The team, led by Claudia Dantschke, consists of eight experienced professionals, a research associate, and a team assistant. Together, they bring extensive experience in the areas of Salafi-jihadist radicalization, right-wing extremism, disengagement, and deradicalization.

Interdisciplinary Centre for the Prevention of Radicalisation and Promotion of Democracy (IZRD e.V.)

The Interdisciplinary Centre for the Prevention of Radicalisation and Promotion of Democracy (IZRD e. V.) was founded in 2022 as a non-profit association by experts from civil society, security authorities, academia and business.

The IZRD focuses on the topics of conspiracy narratives and worldview issues, religiously based extremism and anti-democratic worldviews as well as their connection to child protection. The impact of structural inequalities such as racism is recognised and reflected within the organisation's own attitude and work.

The basis for this is a humanistic view of humanity that emphasises personal responsibility and the ability to change. The promotion of democracy, interdisciplinary cooperation and team-orientation are central pillars of the IZRD's working methods. This is based on the conviction that radicalisation can only be effectively prevented through joint, interdisciplinary action.
